Toward >100 GHz speed tunable metasurfaces

High speed photonic devices are critical for future high speed data communications. We utilized a low loss phase change materials antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) to demonstrate ultrafast switching speed using single pulse of ps-laser with maximum switching speed >100 GHz. Moreover, we obtained multi-levels of phase switching for increasing the data storage size and Sb3S2 has nonvolatile phase change for low power applications.
